That’s not the norm and that’s why this blog exists. We, in this country, have an epidemic of obesity that leads to higher healthcare costs for all of us. People want to know how to lose weight easily and the truth is there is no easy way to lose weight. When you come down to the science of it the only way to lose weight is to consume fewer calories than you burn. While this fact may not be popular it is true and if you’re looking for someone to tell you fairy tales about health and fitness you’re at the wrong place. No miracle pill is going to do anything for you if you just sit on the couch and watch TV. Unfortunately, couch potatoes take in more calories than they use. Sitting there watching TV leads to munching and that leads to more calories and that leads to obesity. You can’t lose weight that way.
One of the best ways to lose weight is with exercise. The problem with that is exercise is work and not many people are motivated to work that hard or to deny themselves the treats and foods they want. However if you want to lose weight you must take in fewer calories than you burn. Getting into a good exercise program will help you lose weight as long as you don’t also increase the amount of calories you eat. That’s a scientific fact. There are a ton of people who need to lose weight and they are looking for easy ways to do it or foods to eat to lose weight. If you want to go on a celery and lettuce diet you’ll lose weight but it won’t be healthy and will harm your body. There are diets for quick weight loss but most people don’t stick to them. There are high protein diets, liquid diets and all kinds of other diets for people to use but the sad fact is still the same, if you take in more calories than you burn you gain weight. If you don’t want to have high cholesterol, heart attacks, strokes, diabetes and many other things related to obesity you have to eat right.
It’s not as hard as you might think and you don’t really have to deprive yourself of all foods. Just use your head and eat the worst foods in small amounts. No one is saying you can’t eat them but don’t sit down and eat a 6 egg omelet with bacon, cheese and sour cream and expect to be healthy. While this health and fitness blog isn’t about losing weight per se, it’s about being healthy and fit. The blog is here to help you understand what you can do to help yourself be a lot healthier and a lot fitter. You don’t need a home fitness trainer to come to your house to get you fit. You don’t need to spend a ton of money on workout equipment. You can if you want to but you don’t have to. If you want to get fit cheaply find the best workout tape for your level and then do it as recommended. Some people use Yoga to stay fit and to keep their bodies and joints limber. Other people like to run for their fitness routine. Find out what workout method works best for you but don’t skip from one to another. Stick with the workout method that works for you. The problem with most people and workouts is they think all they have to do is do the workout and they’ll lose weight. Very few pieces of workout equipment come without instructions to cut down on calorie intake. The workout equipment you spent your hard earned money on is a waste of money if you don’t also cut down on calories.
Getting fit is tough for people who aren’t obese and getting fit when obese takes a lot of will power and self control. You just can’t continue to do the things you did that got you to where you are now. It won’t work and you’ll be frustrated. Start walking, start cutting out fat filled foods, start taking control of your food instead of letting food control you. It really is your choice. Exercise does boost your metabolism and so do foods that are hot. Ever eat a bowl of hot chili and feel yourself start sweating? Guess what, that’s your metabolism working harder. It would be hard to stay on a chili diet for very long no matter the benefits. Almost anything that makes you sweat when you eat it will help you lose weight.
